You will have time to kick back and relax on Coral Island (Koh Lan) and take in the history and lush landscapes around the city of Kanchanaburi and experience the colorful floating market at Damnoen Saduak. A great 3-day trip, full of variety!
Day 1 – Bangkok
This tour is a great way to begin your exploration of Bangkok with a visit to this mega cities true heart and center! On this day trip, we will collect you from your Bangkok hotel and take you to our first destination of the day which is Bangkok’s most important palace and temple complex ‘The Grand Palace’. The Grand Palace was built as a royal residence and over the years many additions have been made including the stunning Wat Prah Kaew which houses the Emerald Buddha carved out of a single piece of Jade! After the Grand Palace, we proceed to Wat Po famous for its Thai massage school and its giant reclining Buddha. We will stop for lunch before heading to the mighty Chao Phraya river where we will board a long tail boat for a ride along the Chao Phraya. From this great vantage point, you will be right amongst river life and see Bangkok from a different perspective. We will soon leave the main river for the backwater canals in Thonburi where you will see a more sedate and traditional way of living as we make our way up and down narrow canals a long way from the hectic pace and traffic of usual Bangkok life. After disembarking the long tail boat we will take a cross-river ferry to Wat Arun one of Bangkok’s most iconic temples. You will be able to get close up and climb partway up the Pagoda to get a panoramic view over the Chao Phraya. Our last destination of the day will be the busy Yaworat district of Bangkok (China Town) we will see the solid gold Buddha at Wat Traimit. At the end of the day, we will transfer you back to your Bangkok hotel.
Day 2 – Floating Market and Kanchanaburi
Get ready for an early start as this day will combine all the sights, sounds, and colors of the early morning floating market at Damnoen Saduak as well as taking you to the beautiful province of Kanchanaburi. Our first stop will be at the Mae Klong Railway Market where food vendors and market stalls set up on the train tracks! You will watch in amazement at the scene which unfolds as a train passes through!!!! Our next stop on route to the floating market will be a small coconut sugar factory where you can see the manufacturing process of the sweet sugary cake as well as try some if you have a sweet tooth. At Damnoen Saduak we will board a motorboat for a trip through the canals to the floating market venue here you will experience the full colors and vibrancy of this unique market and if you want to get close to the action jump in a paddleboat and have a go at haggling for some market products. We will proceed to Kanchanaburi where you visit the allied prisoners of war cemetery and the famous Bridge Over The River Kwai, we will also visit the Thailand Burma Railway Center which houses an excellent museum for those who are interested in the history of the railway and its construction. After this, we will have the option to take a boat to get a closer view of the river before proceeding with the trip back to Bangkok. This is a great day to get out of the city and sample the history and beautiful nature that Kanchanaburi province has to offer as well as all the colors, sites and aromas of the vibrant floating market at Damnoen Saduak.
Day 3 – Koh Larn (Tian Beach)
We will collect you from your Bangkok hotel and head towards the vibrant seaside city of Pattaya, here we will board our private speedboat for our trip out to the island. On route, you will have the option for some parasailing or sea walking on the ocean floor. At Koh Larn you can swim in the crystal clear waters that the sea around this island offers and kick back to take it easy for a while. We will take lunch at a beach restaurant. After lunch feel free for another swim or soak up the rays of sunshine before we board the speed boat for our return trip to Pattaya. After this tour, you can head back to Bangkok or have the option to drop in o the magnificent Sanctuary of Truth, a gigantic carved wooden pavilion carved and constructed from timber using traditional methods.
