2 Day 1 Night Essential Bangkok Shore Excursion (Private Tour)

Get the most out of your time in Bangkok on this 2-day trip taking in the main highlights which include the Floating Market at Damnoen Saduak and off course the magnificent Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew.

Day 1 – Bangkok

This tour is a great way to begin your exploration of Bangkok with a visit to this mega cities true heart and center! On this day trip, we will collect you from your cruise ship at Laem Chabang and take you to our first destination of the day which is Bangkok’s most important palace and temple complex ‘The Grand Palace’. The Grand Palace was built as a royal residence and over the years many additions have been made including the stunning Wat Phra Kaew which houses the Emerald Buddha carved out of a single piece of Jade! After lunch, we will proceed to Wat Po famous for its Thai massage school and its giant reclining Buddha. Following Wat Po, we will take a cross-river ferry to observe the iconic Wat Arun one of Bangkok’s most iconic temples. You will be able to get close up and climb partway up the Pagoda to get a panoramic view over the Chao Phraya. At Wat Arun, we will board a long tail boat for a ride along the Chao Phraya River. From this great vantage point, you will be right amongst river life and see Bangkok from a different perspective. We will soon leave the main river for the backwater canals in Thonburi where you will see a more sedate and traditional way of living as we make our way up and down narrow canals a long way from the hectic pace and traffic of usual Bangkok life. At the end of the day, we will transfer you to your Bangkok hotel

Day 2 – Floating Market

Get ready for an early departure as we will be picking you up at 7:00 am for our trip towards Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. On the route to Damnoen Saduak, we will stop by at Mae Klong Train Market where you witness the market vendors’ goods set up across the tracks of a working railway line. Just wait and see the amazing scene unfold when the scheduled train passes through this market! Before Damnoen Saduak we will make a short stop at a wonderful little Home industry producing palm sugar. You can see the sugar being made as well as try some of the sweet candy produced from the palm sugar. At Damnoen Saduak you well board a privately chartered motorboat where we will travel some of the canals on the way to the market and you can get a glimpse of real canal-side life. we will disembark the boat at the market and you will then be free to explore the market, you can wander up and down the canals flagging down boats and vendors as you please, or take the paddle boat option where you can really get amongst the action on the canals. Lunch will be taken before we commence the drive back to Laem Chabang where we will transfer you to your waiting cruise ship.

This is a 100% private tour just for you and your group, with your own vehicle, driver and licensed English-speaking guide. You will not join other travellers. The price is per person and gets lower the bigger your group (up to 9 guests; for larger groups, contact us).

Accommodation

Hotel accommodation is not included. Please book your own hotel and add its name and address in your booking so we can arrange pick-up.

Pick-up and drop-off

Price includes pick up and drop off from Laem Chabang Port. We can also arrange to drop you off at a Bangkok or Pattaya hotel if required or we can pick you up from a Bangkok or Pattaya hotel and drop you at Laem Chabang after the tour is complete. Please provide accurate scheduled arrival and departures times of your cruise ship at the time of booking. All Cruise ship tours assume an arrival time no later than 08:00 and departure time no earlier than 18:00. If your shore time is shorter than this then we can customize an itinerary to suit, please contact us for advice and a suggested itinerary.

Dress for temple visits

On this tour, you will be visiting Buddhist temples. Respectful dress is always appreciated. For dress we suggest the following:
Please wear a shirt which covers the shoulders and reaches the waist (a t-shirt will be fine!) For legwear, at least knee-length shorts or skirts should be worn.
